Posted on July 4, 2017June 24, 2018 by rscott56@netzero.com

Having problems understanding Search Engine Optimization? Have you tried to implement SEO on your web site or blog and you’re not getting any results? Perhaps the problem lies with your initial understanding of Search Engine Optimization. After all, if you don’t know the basics, how can you build on a solid SEO practice? Let’s look at this from a different perspective.

Come up with ideas to create a new product or service.
Creating advertising content for your business web site searchable for your audience is much like bird watching and going on nature walks.

Creating advertising content for your business web site searchable for your audience is much like bird watching and going on nature walks. Many people are turning to nature. They like to see the beauty, the motion and the uniqueness found in their favorite spot. Whether it is a campground or conservatory beautiful elements of nature draw people’s attention. They enjoy using field guides or phone apps and devices to identify what they are seeing and learn more about them.

It is the same for people who are interested in your blog or website. They are searching for ideas. Make it easy for them to find you with good SEO search words.

Once you have registered your domain name and found a place to host your  site, it is time to communicate to the world what your about and what you offer. Maybe you have nothing in mind at first. But you need to come up with ideas to create a new product or service.

The best place to start is to ask yourself important questions about your business. Let’s start with you. What are you interested in? Are you good at something specific? What topics do you believe potential customers will want to hear? Write down blog and advertising messages which are familiar to you. You should have a good sense of words that are important for the customer.

What are the most important keywords in your blog or advertising message? What strategy can you use to bring those words out and help bring customers to your site? If you have none then it would be important to scope out new keywords for your followers. This not only helps your future clients find your site but makes your article easier to understand. At this point it would be important to use keyword research tools.

Here is a list of research tools available to you:

Google ad words keyword planner – https://adwords.google.com/KeywordPlanner

Google trends – http://www.google.com/trends/

Yoast suggests – https://yoast.com/suggest/

And for WordPress user use the Google analytics for WordPress plug-in – https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/#analytics

After you have found the keywords that generate interest, place them within your message in a way that will interest potential new clients. This will help your customers find your site with their favorite search engines. Place those keywords within your clear and compelling headlines. Also place your keywords in the first sentences.

Your headlines and top sentences should have all the information the customers’ needs to know. And everything on the top screen before your reader scrolls down. What search engines and readers are looking for is to answer their questions. Again, they want information. Remember, not only do you need to have informative keywords but also simplify the message. Remember, a blog message must answer the customers’ questions.

But getting back to bird watching, it’s important for you to carry your field guide book with you. When you spot an interesting bird, you want to quickly find that specimen in your field guide. Keywords and informative titles can help you do that. If your book does not answer your question then it is time to look for another field guide book. So, make it easy for your customer to find what they’re looking for through your web site.
