Communication Management – Is communication just verbal

Are the people engaged in your project? Do you have an organized communication and filing system? What forms of communication do you have? Do you have contact information of people connected with your project? You need to keep your information flowing and stored to access at any time.

But don’t forget accurate documentation of each process of the project. Your documents in performance reporting, process planning and correspondence all must be kept on file to inspect later if necessary.

 I will continue on with my nine-blog session on Project Management. I will expand on each management segment of my past blog on Project Management.

 Communication Management – Is communication just verbal? Meetings are important to keep current on all situations in your project. You must develop good verbal communication strategies – face-to-face, telephone, e-mails and other forms of technology used. Communicate throughout your project. If you do not communicate effectively your problems will dramatically hurt your project. Your project may fall short from all your expectations.

But don’t forget accurate documentation of each process of the project. Your documents in performance reporting, process planning and correspondence all must be kept on file to inspect at a later date if necessary. Have your filing system up-to-date and easy to access. If you don’t you will waste time looking for that important piece of information. If not found, that lost information could derail you project.

Can you imagine what would happen if you left important people out. Keep the lines of communications open and your project will have a greater chance to succeed.

 Communication Project Management Check List

1)      What forms of verbal communication do you plan to use? Talk to your people on a regular basis, and if need be – keep records of the conversations you have

2)      What forms of record-keeping do you plan to use? Make sure your filing system is easy to access and is cleared of all worthless papers

3)      Look over all your data – make sure that you have all the information you need to keep the project going
